About Dezful Dezful, city in southwestern Iran, located near the Iraqi border on the west bank of the Dez River, in Khuzestan province. The city gets its name, which means “citadel bridge,” from a bridge built across the Dez by (according to legend) Shapur II. Dezful is called "dezfil" and "desfil" on it's people language.
